Culture
Sangi’lak as a whole is derived from the culture of its founding leader, X’yrin Exultare. Influences from the Nomad Collective helped to shape the ranks, practices and ceremonies within the pack. And while not all beliefs are required to be adhered to by the pack, there is a single creed that all members must abide; Family Above All Else.
This creed of the Family was not solely influenced by the Collective, but by the experiences created by the members of Sangi’lak. As each member was once a loner (or Wanderer), the importance of family has been instilled in each, reminding each member what they were once without and have found again through the shared bonds of companionship and camaraderie. This too was an aspect of the Collective, making for a tightly knit community as it is with Sangi’lak.
While Sangi’lak does not change territories with the change of seasons as those of The Collective do, they still call themselves Nomads. They use the term to refer to themselves to remember that most of them were nomadic before they joined. Instead of casting off the title, they embrace it, knowing almost all who join have this in common. Though they are not all family by blood, they were all nomads at one time and can bond over this shared, yet individual, experience.
Although the culture of the Collective has been the main influence on Sangi’lak, the individual cultures of its members continue to add to the practices, habits and expression of the pack as a whole. Each new culture and history is embraced to make the pack as unique as each individual member. In that way, the culture of Sangi’lak is constantly changing and evolving while still adhering to the main principles it was founded on.
